what we do
The purpose of the Staurolite Foundation is to bring the light of the world to individuals and communities through education, leadership, and recreational activities. We exist to assist individuals and communities through services and funding with their life-sustaining and eternal needs.

why staurolite?
Upon this rock I will build my church. (Matthew 16:18)
A Staurolite is a rock that grows in the shape of a cross—well, grows may not be completely accurate. From a geological sense, these rocks metamorphosed. The vast majority of staurolites are imperfect, which means the cross is not in the traditional 90 degree cross shape. Most have metamorphosed into an X shape or are missing parts, and the majority are imperfect. They all, however, are unique and beautiful.
We selected the name because it represents the cross to us—the cross where Jesus the Christ was crucified for the sins of the world so we would not be separated from God the Father throughout eternity. Every one of us has the opportunity to choose to follow Him during our time here on earth, and the reward is enjoying the full benefit of His great plans for us and eternity with Him in Heaven.
