Do Something
“Suppose you see a brother or a sister who has no food or clothing and you say,” Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well” – but then you do not give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do? – James 2:15-16
As I ponder our trip to India this past year, the differences from the 3 previous trips are what stand out. The verse above resonates with me. I have many conversations with Christians who are interested in doing something to bring the light of the world to people and make the world better, but they do not know how. I also hear folks comment that they are concerned that their donation will not be used as they intend. I was told by a man that he was not interested in his organization participating in anything that was not exceptional.
It seems to me that all of those concerns are not my concern. My concern is as James wrote in Chapter 2 – give a man a coat or a meal – show love. Matthew West has a song entitled, “Do Something”. I believe West has hit the nail on the head. God created me to “Do Something”. My own pitiful efforts will likely not make a difference, but in God’s economy my own pitiful efforts are multiplied just as the loaves and the fishes fed 5000 – not 5. Just as the simple water system shown in the attached pictures makes a difference in the lives of the children of the New Hope school, you too can make a difference in a life.
Let me encourage you to get in the game. It is really not winning or losing that matters but in how you play. Ephesians 2:10 has become a standard for the Stauorlite foundation. We know that God has Good deeds planned for us from long ago – and we want to do those Good deeds. We do not look back at the Good deeds we may have already missed, but we look forward to the Good deeds still ahead pressing on toward the prize.
If you are interested in helping us with the Good deeds that God has planned for us – you and me – then come on. There is plenty of room for like-minded people who simply want to serve and fulfill the Good deeds God has planned for them.
Be purposeful,
mike

I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 3:14
For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; ‘he will lead them to springs of living water.’ ‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’” – Revelation 7:17
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. – Ephesians 2:10
If you are interested in supporting the work of the Staurolite foundation we ask you first to pray. Pray for the foundation and pray for God to reveal the Good deeds he has planned for you. After praying, if you believe that the Good Lord is leading you to work with the Staurolite foundation, please contact us about working on one of the projects – either a Mountain Top Safari or make a trip to India, or make a trip to the next field – (I’m not sure where or what that is, but I’ll let you know when I know.) You can also provide financial support, as I was told one time, “they who write a check serve as well”. We will do the work that the Good Lord provides the funding for us to do. We welcome your personal visit or your phone call to discuss at anytime. mike
